One of Africa’s heaviest rainfall in 30 years left at least 6 people dead in Somalia.
At least 6 people have been recorded dead in the most populated city in Somalia as a record breaking rainfall brought a wave of flooding and destruction to the capital city of the East African country.

The United Nation’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed the devastating rainfall in Mogadishu, saying that the heavy downpour was the heaviest the country had seen in more than 30 years.
Approximately 750,000 people have been affected by the flooding, while damage to infrastructure and farmland has not been estimated yet. An $80m appeal has been launched by the United Nations in a bid to provide short-term relief materials to the thousands of people displaced by the heavy rain.
