Manchester United head coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said that Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo, who has been impressive since his signing is aware of the value the club puts on him.
Solskjaer made this known while reacting to comments about Ighalo’s place in the club after he led the Red Devils to a win against Norwich City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Nigerian had netted the opener to United’s 2-1 victory against Norwich, helping them to cement their semi-final place.
Speaking to BBC Sport on Sunday, Solskjaer said, “It is great to have the option to rotate. Anthony Martial came on and did brilliant, but Odion gives me a chance to rotate.
“He’s a proven goalscorer and played his part in both goals.“He is a great person to have around the dressing room too.
“Odion Ighalo knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room; he’s a goalscorer, a poacher, he’s strong, we can play the ball into him, he showed for the second and Paul [Pogba] found him.”
