Youths activist and former Youth representative on the Lagos Judicial Panel, Rinu Oduala has queried Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on the fresh arrest of the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters.
Recall that Rinu had reportedly pulled out of the panel on Friday 12th February in a statement read on the floor of the panel, saying the panel has chosen to put the interests of profit gains of the owner of the Lekki Toll Gate ahead of it serving justice to lives of those lost at the October 20, 2020 event.
As the youths gathered again today, many have been said to be arrested and Rinu revealed that they have been denied access to lawyers. Taking to Twitter, she wrote, “They are not letting lawyers see the arrested protesters. The Police said they have direct orders from the Lagos State Governor to arrest protesters & known frontliners of the #EndSARS protests & will soon move them to Ikeja”, she wrote. Querying Sanwo-Olu with reference to his statement during the October #EndSARS movement that some forces were beyond his control propelled the Lekki killings, Rinu added, “Jide SanwoOlu, are these forces beyond your control?“.
