He described the letter as timely and superlative whilst calling President Buhari a pathological liar and disciple of Abacha. He went ahead and attributed his ‘fighting Spirit’ to OBJ, and called out to President Buhari to be ready, as he is willing to follow OBJ into battle.

OBJ had on Sunday published a public letter titled ‘Points For Concern and Action’ in which he expressed his concern about the status of democracy in Nigeria and his perceived incapability of INEC to conduct free and fair election coming February.

President Buhari’s Presidential aide, Garba Shehu responded in the early hours of today, saying the sixteen-page letter is the last push by desperate politicians’ who can’t handle the president politically and have resorted toubterfuge. “Our first message to the former President is that he needs a good doctor for good treatment and to say to him, ‘get well soon'”, Garba said in his statement.

He also stated that OBJ is jealous of the President who seemingly has more esteem than he does. “Since he left office in 1979, Mr Obasanjo never let every succeeding leader of the country function freely, and this included the one he personally handpicked against all known rules drawn up by the party that put him in the office of the President. But Chief Obasanjo is jealous because President Buhari has more esteem than him and the sooner he learns to respect him the better. It is a notorious fact that in dealing with any leader that he failed to control, he resorted to these puerile attacks”, he stated further.

In response to this, Femi Fani Kayode tweeted “anyone that says OBJ needs to see a doctor and that he should ‘get well soon’ is deluded”.
