No, Thank You – Obaseki Tells Buhari It Would Be Immoral Of Him To Return To APC

The recently re-elected Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said on Friday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that it would be immoral of him to leave the PDP and return to the APC. Godwin Obaseki

The Governor said this to the State House correspondents at the end of his meeting with the President that it would be really immoral of him to return to the All Progressives Congress.

Godwin Obaseki won the Edo State Governorship election on the Peoples Democratic Party’s platform after beating the APC’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu which disqualified him from contesting in the party’s primaries. He immediately dumped the APC for PDP and contested as its flagbearer and won.Obaseki

There have been concerns that having won the election on the platform of the PDP, he might return to the APC. Which had led to Gov. Nyesom Wike and former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose to warn Obaseki that he shouldn’t collect the Edo people’s mandate on the PDP and return to the APC?

But the governor who met with the President alongside his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, said it would be immoral to do so.

Obaseki and Shuaibu were joined on what they called the “thank you visit” to Buhari by their spouses and some lawmakers from the state.
