Obaseki Declares 24 Hours Curfew, Shut Down Schools, Businesses Across The State

Governor Obaseki of Edo State has declared an indefinite 24 hours curfew across the state, starting today Monday 19th October by 4pm.
This is coming as the Governor’s reaction to the attack launched on the protesters in the state, especially in Benin, its capital.Obaseki
In a statement published by the State Secretary, Osarodion Ogie, via the Governor’s official Twitter handle, Governor Obaseki stated that the decision is necessary because of the very disturbing incidents of vandalism and attacks on private individuals and institutions by hoodlums in the guise of #EndSARS protesters.

He added that while the government respects the rights of the youths in staging their protests, it cannot sit idly when hoodlums have taken laws into and at such, schools and businesses are to shutdown activities too.
