On Friday 7 July, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) arraigned Professor Anthony Elujoba on a 7 count charge bothering on financial misconduct. This was done by a high court sitting in Ede town, Osun State which was presided over by Justice David Oladimeji who ordered that the former acting VC of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Professor Elujoba, would be standing trial for alleged financial irregularity and be remanded at the Ilesa prison pending the ruling on his bail application. The counsel to the defendants, Ibrahim Lawal had filed an application for bail but was opposed by the EFCC counsel, Festus Ojo.
