Not Again! Monkey Pox Resurfaces In Nigeria

Confirmed cases of the dreaded monkey-pox virus has been recorded in Nigeria once again.

The Plateau State commissioner of health, Dr. Kunden Deyin, confirmed that two positive cases of the virus was recorded in Shendam Local Government Area of the state.
To make matters worse, the infected victims were discharged after receiving treatment at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos.

Dr. Kunden further noted that the state’s Epidemiology and Surveillance unit of the ministry are still monitoring the contacts to curtail the spread of the deadly virus.The number of suspected monkey pox cases in the state has risen from the 87 to 126 between Tuesday and Thursday. There is still no specific treatments available for monkey-pox virus.
