“Nobody Forced Him To Sign Here” – PSG Owner Blasts Neymar AGAIN

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has launched another stinging attack on Neymar as the Brazilian forward continues to attempt to force a move away from the Ligue 1 club.

The former Barcelona man arrived in the French capital for a world-record fee of £198m in the summer of 2017 and has won four major domestic honours in two seasons with PSG.

Rumours, though, have surfaced in recent weeks that the 27-year-old wants to leave Parc des Princes, with a return to Barca a possibility, while fellow La Liga side Real Madrid are also said to be interested in securing his signature.

In order to force through a move away from PSG, Neymar has refused to renew his contract with the French champions. And now in an interview with magazine France Football, Al-Khelaifi left no one uncertain as to his thoughts regarding the whole Neymar saga.

“I want players willing to give everything to defend the honour of the jersey and join the club project,” said the Qatari. “Those who do not want to, or do not understand, we see each other and talk about it. Of course there are contracts that must be respected, but now the priority is the total members of the project. Nobody forced him to sign here, nobody pushed him in. He came knowingly to join a project.”

Neymar had hoped to be involved for Brazil in the Copa America they are hosting this summer, but is instead watching from home after sustaining an ankle ligament sprain in a warm-up match against Qatar.

The 27-year-old was also stripped of the Selecao captaincy in the lead-up to the competition, with PSG team-mate Dani Alves taking on the armband instead. Whether the pair will still be club colleagues at the start of next season, however, remains to be seen as Neymar continues to push for a move away from France.
