No PVC, No Sex! Actress Omoni Oboli Charges Nigerian Women Ahead Of 2019 Elections

Omoni Oboli has charged Nigerian women ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Nollywood actress was seen urging women to deny their husbands sex if they fail to get a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in a video posted on her Instagram account. “No PVC, no jangolova,” Omoni Oboli said in the video which she claimed “is not a paid ad. Nigeria is for all of us.” The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, 16th February, while the Governorship and State Assembly/Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections have been scheduled for Saturday, 2nd March 2019.


Omoni Oboli wore a floral gown and also put her natural hair on display as usual in the video, which she captioned: “Nigerian women…Na mama Ngozi o! I know say una dey always hear better word! Make we encourage our men to collect PVC o! Please get your pvc so you can vote! It’s your civic responsibility, it’s your right! Nigeria must better! #NoPVCNoJangolova #LockUp #WivesOnStrike.”
Oboli played the role of “Mama Ngozi” in Nigerian comedy film “Wives On Strike,” which the actress directed and was released on April 8, 2016. “Wives On Strike” tells the  stories of a group of market women who deny their husbands intimate affection in a bid to stir them into making a decision, and it features Uche Jombo, Kenneth Okonkwo, Ufuoma McDermott, Kehinde Bankole and Kalu Ikeagwu. The film grossed 71 million naira, and is on the top ten list of Nollywood’s highest grossing movies ever.
