Nigerians In South Africa Have Allegedly Been Ordered To Leave

Ikechukwu Anyene, the president of The Nigeria Union in South Africa has alleged in a statement that two communities in South Africa are ordering Nigeria residents to leave their territories. Ikechukwu said one of the communities, Kuruman community, gave Nigerians living in the area an ultimatum to vacate the area before Thursday, June 15, 2017.
Ikechukwu also said a directive was issued to landlords in Johannesburg’s Klaafontein community not renew the rents of Nigerian residents in the area noting “We have written reports on these incidents and sent to the Nigerian Mission and the South African police…We recommended interventions before the June 16 deadline to the mission and we are waiting for their response….We are yet to have any meeting since the ministers of the two countries”Photo Credit: Getty
