Buhari’s Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo has incurred the wrath of Nigerians over his retrospective statement on the situation of Nigerians during the stay-home order.
Already, Nigerians are lamenting hunger and lack of financial capacity to sustain their families during the lockdown. Keyamo, however, seems to be unaware of this as he took to Twitter to predict the glaring situation.Nigerians Slam Festus Keyamo Over Lockdown Statement, He Replies
According to him, governments across the country will be faced with another challenge of keeping their citizens safe from hunger, depression and poverty. “The challenge that’ll soon face govts around the world is how to keep their citizens safe from COVID-19 by imposing inactivity & at the same time how to keep them safe from poverty, hunger & depression as a result of the inactivity. It’s a decision between the rock & a hard place“, he tweeted.
This infuriated Nigerians who call him out, charging him to act as he is one of those in governance. “That will soon face or is already facing and we can see how the Nigerian government and politicians are failing woefully at imposing inactivity and at the same time keeping citizens safe from hunger and depression. He noted that people are free to air their opinion as it is a sin of. the hard times that has set in the country, adding that people are always thinking other countries are better than theirs.
