Nigerians Living In The US Hold Sports Carnival

Nigerians residing in the US have held a sports carnival in New Jersey to celebrate the 12th Annual Nigerian Sports and Cultural Carnival organized by the Nigerian Sports and Cultural Organisation.

The Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Amb. Lot Egopija, who led the staff of the Consulate-General to the carnival, pledged to use cultural and sports carnivals to bond together Nigerians living in the US.

The carnival featured the popular Yoruba board game “ayo”, soccer, chess, table tennis, draft, dancing competition and musical performance, award presentations, among others.

Egopija said during the carnival that the consulate-general would actively participate and partner with the carnival organisers to strengthen the connection of friendship among Nigerians living in the North American country.

Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Amb. Lot Egopija played table tennis with Amb. Nicholas Ella at the 12th Annual Nigerian Sports and Cultural Carnival in New Jersey.

Egopija at the event said, “We will continue to elaborate on our efforts to support our nationals in New Jersey and other states within the jurisdiction of the consulate-general.

“This is a mandate that we have and we will continue to provide consular services to our nationals. We will continue to make sure that every Nigerian gets the service he or she deserves.’’
