When Simi apologised for her statement about homosexuals, many Nigerians took it serious until Adekunle Gold’s picture with a popular LGBT magazine surfaced.
Adekunle Gold had taken to his IG page to share a picture of him taken for the international magazine cover with caption, “for @quazarmagazine link in their bio.” It then got some Nigerians opining that Simi’s apology is not genuine but for ‘selfish interesting’.Nigerians Fire Simi For 'Fake Apology' As Adekunle Gold Features Of LGBT Magazine
This led to them calling out the magazine to take off the Ire singer from the cover as he does not represent the community well. This of course got to Quazar Magazine as all traces of Adekunle Gold has been removed.

The singer also edited the picture and removed the caption. Neither he nor his wife has reacted to the backlash, but the magazine did, however, noting that it was Adekunle Gold that approached it for the cover and never knew about his wife’s statement.
