‘Fame After Death’ – Nigerians Drag Slimcase Over Insensitive George Floyd Comments, Singer Apologises

Singer, Slimcase is the latest celebrity to come under fire from Nigerians, especially after his provoking statement on the death of Black American, George Floyd and 16-year-old Nigerian Tina.

Recall that the two had been victims of police brutality and harassment, which led to their death. A move which has since sparked a lot of debates and demand for justice on social media and beyond.

However, a worrisome statement by Slimcase came to the fore, after he said the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, United States is more important to him than the death of Tina.

He also said he would like the fame that has become accrued to the name George Floyd, describing the deceased as a sacrifice for black freedom.Tina

He had written “FAME AFTER DEATH… any positive blow wey I gats blow God Let me blow am now that I am alive not after I am dead ? ? George A sacrifice for d change in black history.”Here are some comments by Nigerians: Seeing the backlash, he was receiving for the statement, Slimcase took to his Instagram page to apologize and seek the forgiveness of Nigerians.

He wrote “Just seeing this #Justice for Tina All blacks lives matters so sad sorry ?? once again so sorry Nigerians I’m so sorry about this , I just got to read the #tina story and I’m so sad right now , my comment earlier was a misinterpretation and I sincerely apologize . I’m a father to a beautiful girl , So I know how painful this must be for Tina Parent. Tina is for all of us. We want #Justice For Tina.”
