Nigerian Vice-President Osinbajo Calls For Peace And Unity As Secession Threats Increases

Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has called for peace and unity among all Nigerians following the ultimatum that was issued by some Arewa youths that Igbos should vacate the Northern region before October 1st. The acting president, at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the former chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), stresses the importance of unity in diversity. He likened the 1914 amalgamation of Northern and Southern protectorates of Nigeria to a marriage saying various ethnic nationalities in Nigeria were in a form of marriage.According to him challenges such as quarrels and agitations could come up in marriage at anytime, but it is the responsibilities of parties in the union to give peace a chance and work in unity for the marriage not to break.
