News of the young Nigeria music protege Omah Lay broke online of him getting arrested while on a tour in the East African country Uganda. The news was broke on social media that the KeyQaad and Warner Music act was arrested by Ugandan journalist, Canary Mugume.
In a tweet at 4:19 pm, Mugume wrote, “Just in: Nigerian Artist Omah lay has been arrested by Katwe police, together with the manager of the venue where he performed from last night; Dungu Ivan and the Events manager Prim Kasana, all are in custody, @Lukowoyesigyire confirms.”

He had allegedly confirmed the news from Luk Owoyesigyire, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan Police.
On the night of December 12, 2020, Omah Lay had performed at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda. But apparently, the event hadn’t gone as planned.
Omah Lay who has been one of the very few breakout stars of the Nigerian music industry in 2020, who recently dropped his second Ep “What Have We Done” Which came quickly on the heels of his debut studio project “Get Layd”. The Port Harcourt-bred Afropop singer has been tipped recently has the rightful heir to the win the crown of the Next Rated Artiste at the Headies Awards for 2020.
