Since exchanging the controlling booth in the music studio for the recording booth, Maleek Berry has been winning ever since. According to latest music statistics, he is not just winning our hearts, he is also winning digitally. Because his smash single “Kontrol” and its music video have been estimated to have been streamed on the popular music platform Spotify over 10 million times, a feat only a few African artists have been able to manage. The music video has also been streamed via Youtube over 20 million times.
“Kontrol” was released in April 2016. It was self-produced by Maleek Berry, and distributed across the internet alone. It quickly spread as the months sped, penetrated radio, and became one of the most groovy songs of the summer. he went on to release an EP titled “Last Daze Of Summer” in September, which was a hit. Songs off the project including ‘Eko Miami’, ‘Flexing’, and ‘Let me know’ have accumulated numerous streams.
