The Nigerian Police Force has finally explained how Senator Dino Melaye tried to escape form the vehicle that was provided to transport him to Lokoja, so as to face the charges levied against him in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Jimoh Moshood, told newsmen that the senator was transported to an hospital, after his daring escape move.
Moshood further disclosed that Senator Melaye escaped from Area 1 area of the police headquarters. He said “men believed to be working for him got wind of the police movement and waylaid the police vehicle carrying him around the Area 1 area with their vehicle after which the senator jumped down and bolted away in the process.”
Moshood also disclosed that a mid-aged woman was wounded in the process by the vehicle used by the senator’s men. Senator Melaye would be charged for case of escape from lawful custody.
