Gay activist Bisi Alimi has taken a swipe at Nigerian musicians stating that they are increasingly becoming talentless and the spirit of Nollywood is gradually taking over the music industry.
The LGBTQ advocate took to his Instagram story to describe what 80% of the music in Nigeria sounds like noting that it is noisy, meaningless, and toxic and a reflection of what the people have become. He noted that the meaningful 20% makes no sense to Nigerian listeners because they lack the emotional intelligence to appreciate good music. He finished off by saying that the amount of meaningless, useless, and tasteless sound circulating in the industry is a cause for alarm as the music industry was once enviable.
