Nigerian Celebrities Who Have Questioned The Killings Of The Lekki Tollgate Massacre

The incident that took place on the 20th of October, 2020 at the Lekki Tollgate remains a sour spot in the history of Nigeria. Many have gone on to term that day, Black Tuesday and Nigerians have not forgotten the fallen heroes of the #Endsars protest.

Hashtags like whogavetheorder, Endsars, Lekkitollgatemassacre and more are still trending, as Nigerians cry out to the government, to bring justice for the fallen heroes. A lot videos of the Lekki Tollgate shootings, pictures of people that died and bullets flooded the internet, and are still there; But in the midst of all these, there are still people that question the killings of that day. There are still Nigerian celebrities who are of the opinion that, nobody died at the Lekki Tollgate massacre. So here are celebrities who have questioned the killings of the Lekki Tollgate massacre;

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
This actress has been on the receiving end of a lot criticism, as Nigerians blast her for questioning the shootings that took place at the Lekki Tollgate. In a tweet she tweeted last year, Omotola stated that people should stop all these sensationalization regarding the #Endsars protest because so far, no family member has come out to say they lost anybody.

Kemi Olunloyo
Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo stated that there was no massacre by the military, at the Lekki toll gate during the Endsars protest on October 20, 2020. She disclosed this on social media, stating that she spent six months investigating, and no family came forward with names of dead relatives.

The minister of Information, is one person who has always insisted, on several occasions that nobody died during the Lekki Tollgate shooting. Now following the report of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry, people who have always been questioning how he can say nobody died, are dragging him for his comments. The minister has always been of the stance that no killing took place but the recent report prove him wrong. A year after the killings he still called it a ‘phantom massacre’ as he denied the death of any civilian.

The Governor of Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that nobody died at the Lekki Tollgate massacre. As more evidence were unearthed, the governor kept changing his statements from no one died, to just two people died with no bloodshed. He is surely among the list of people who have questioned the killings that took place on the 20th of October, 2020.

Tinubu is among the people who did not just question the killings of October 20, 2020, but also questioned the motive of the victimized peaceful protesters. The former Governor of Lagos, addressing the press on Lekki Massacre once stated that, those who were at the shooting needs to be questioned, as to their character, why they were there and how long they were there for.
