Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has released a short statement on Twitter after she was put on blast for saying to a teenage boy he’ll never make money singing during Nigerian idol audition.
Taking to her Twitter page, the singer said she is feeling like Judge Judy and the audience has to either love or hate her. She then further thanked Nigerians on Twitter for making her trend.
I’m feeling like #JudgeJudy right now. You either LOVE her OR you HATE her, and that’s quite ALRIGHT! Either way, Thanks for the #1 trend tweeps
Below are some reactions;
Imagine Seyi Shay telling a 17 year old with good voice, who has passion for singing that “YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO MAKE MONEY BEING A SINGER”. Cos you’re God abi?
*** Wtf!! This is too much from Seyi shay, is this supposed to be a word of encouragement to a 17y/o kid???
*** Before y’all start dragging Seyi Shay like tigger generator make sure you watch the complete video here.
*** You’ve always trended for the wrong reason anyways. and this is just another reason for Nigerians to remind you later in the future that your career is long asleep…when last did you make good money from singing?
*** Funny enough d stage fright doesn’t necessarily mean they were afraid of you Madam Judge, they are scared of flopping because they know the whole Nigeria is watching and most of them doesn’t even have a prior singing in crowd experience. People learn and people grow!!
