Nigerian Goalie Maduka Okoye Joins Dutch Club Sparta Rotterdam

Super Eagles young goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has today confirmed his move to Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam on a 2-year deal from German side Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Maduka’s move was also confirmed by Spart Rotterdam who took to its official Twitter to announce the goalie’s move to the club, after being subjected to a medical

Maduka Okoye wrote on his Twitter handle:

“Happy to sign for this great and traditional Club! Can’t wait to get started with the new chapter in my career. Proud to be a Spartan!”. Maduka Okoye Joins Sparta Rotterdam
“Sparta Rotterdam has strengthened itself, with the exception of the medical examination, with Maduka Okoye,” the Eredivisie club said on their website.
“The twenty-year-old goalkeeper comes over from Fortuna Düsseldorf transfer-free and signs for two seasons, with an option for another two years.”

The 20-year-old goalkeeper who was born to a Nigerian father and a German mother played second fiddle at Fortuna Dusseldorf who eventually ended up getting relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2019/2020 season.

He started his career at the youth team of Bayer Leverkusen before he joined Fortuna Dusseldorf.
