Nigerian British Councillor Suspended Over Homophobic Comments

A Nigerian British Councillor, Chika Amadi, who serves as a councilor on Harrow Council in the UK, has been suspended by UK’s Labor party for making anti-gay comments on social media.
Chika who is also a charity worker and a pastor, according to Guardian, had allegedly shared homophobic content on her social media pages, likened Pride marchers to pedophiles, and called them abnormal on social media two days ago.

She had also been accused of refering to gay persons as “paedophiles” and threatened to unleash the “burning anger” of God on her critics. Chika shared a 2014 post from an anti-LGBT Christian website on her twitter handle and wrote “Walking about naked in front of children is nothing but paedophelia being labelled liberalism,” she tweeted.

Some UK LGBT members petitioned the Labor party and she was suspended yesterday. A spokesperson of the party who confirmed her suspension said “Chika Amadi has been suspended from the Labour party pending an investigation.”
