Naija To The World! 11-Year Old Nigerian Artist, Kareem Waris Beats 2,723 Candidates to Win Taiwanese Award

11-year-old Nigerian hyperrealistic artist, Kareem Waris Olamilekan, who became famous after he drew French President, Emmanuel Macron when he visited Lagos has emerged the recipient of Taiwan’s Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation‘s “22nd Fervent Global Love of Lives Award”.

Waris got this top award as he beats out 2,723 other recommended candidates in the world. This news was shared by the representative of Taiwan in Nigeria, Amb. Vincent Yang, who revealed this to Punch. Sharing why he won, he said that Waris stood out among other 2,723 recommended candidates across the world.

He went on to reveal that the young artist would Taiwanese President, Tsai Ing-wen, among other laureates. He added that Waris would attend charity events with other laureates, as scheduled to hold in Taipei from Sept. 20 to Sept. 28, during which he will meet the Taiwanese President.
