Nigerian Youngster Akinkunmi Amoo Signs For Danish Side Copenhagen

Amoo a former Flying Eagles star joined Copenhagen from Hammarby IF on Monday, January 31, 2022, in a deal the Swedish side referred to as “the biggest sale in the club’s history”.

The 19-year-old joins Copenhagen on a deal that will take him until 2026.
In a message on the official website of Copenhagen, Amoo stated that he was delighted to join the Danish side for his development.

He said, “I have had a fantastic time in Hammarby, and I have great respect for the club and the fans there. They gave me the chance and believed in me and I will never forget that.

“Therefore, I am also very happy that the clubs have agreed that both parties are happy with. Since I heard about the opportunity to come to FC Copenhagen, I have hoped that it could be done.”

“There have been other opportunities for me along the way, “but I feel that FCK is the right next step for me in terms of my career. Here I can develop and learn a lot together with the fantastic players that the club already has.”

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge and to stepping into the Park, which is a fantastic stadium with passionate fans,” said Akinkunmi Amoo.

Akinkunmi Amoo is the second Nigerian signing by Copenhagen during the January transfer window. Amoo will team up in attack with compatriot Paul Mukairu who also joined Copenhagen recently.
