Nigeria Vs Argentina: The Cold War Resumes

The world will have the privilege of witnessing one of the most tensed matches in football history on Tuesday as the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Argentina at the Saint Petersburg stadium.


The tussle between these two nations date back to the 25th of June 1994 when Nigeria lost to Diego Maradona’s Argentina at the group stage of the FIFA world cup. After this match crucial match, Diego Maradona was thrown out of the tournament after testing positive for ephedrine.
The Argentines went on to defeat Nigeria in almost every important match as they defeated Nigeria in the 2002 nd 2010 FIFA world cup and in an international friendly match on the 6th of September 2011.

Surprisingly, the Nigerian Eagles recorded a massive victory in their last match against Argentina as the likes of Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho left Jorge Sampaoli stunned on the 14th of November last year.
The Eagles have been presented with another opportunity to record a rousing victory against Argentina when it really matters as Nigeria take on Argentina tonight.
