In keeping to its aim and objective of promoting good health and healthy living, the World Health Organization (WHO) has listed African countries with high risk of Coronavirus and Nigeria is part of that list.
In a press release by the organization, it said these countries have greater risk of contracting this virus which broke out in China because of their affinity as regards traveling to and from the country.
The 12 African countries are Nigeria, DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Angola, Algeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and South Africa.
WHO Africa Regional Director, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, said it is quintessential that such countries put modalities in place that will serve as preventive measures and help to contain the virus in case of a breakout.

“The quicker countries can detect cases, the faster they will be able to contain an outbreak and ensure the novel coronavirus does not overwhelm health systems.”
