Nigeria Airforce (NAF) Crash As It Suffers Technical Failure

On Thursday, Nigerian Airforce (NAF) said one of its helicopter known as Agusta 109 Light Utility crashed while undertaking a mission in the North East. This was said in a statement by Olatokunbo Adesanya, Air Commodore and Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters.Mr. Adesanya further said that the helicopter’s target was to further enhance synergy between Nigerian Army and NAF in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North-East. He said that the incident was as a result of technical fault. He further added that “the NAF pilots who were experienced, successfully ditched the helicopter into a pool thereby minimising damage and loss of lives.” He concluded by saying that there were neither injuries nor loss of lives on board or on ground. NAF command has directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident.Photo Credit: Getty
