Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage has filed for annulment four days after getting married to Erika Koike in Las Vegas, it has been reported. The 55-year-old actor was previously seen looking worse for wear as he applied for a marriage license at the Clark County Court House Marriage Licence Bureau in downtown Vegas on Saturday.
Nicolas swiftly returned to the judge to request the annulment – which would brand the marriage invalid and void from the outset. In footage that was obtained by the media, the star was caught bizarrely shouting that his make-up artist girlfriend was going to “take all of his money” as they applied to marry at the weekend. The video was filmed at around 11am on Saturday, with an onlooker telling the publication that the actor seemed “very out of it” and “most likely drunk”. Nicolas can be seen walking slowly behind Erika, seemingly speaking to himself with his hands on his hips in the clip. At one point he can be heard saying that he “isn’t doing it” – seemingly in reference to the marriage licence – as well as shouting that 34-year-old Erika’s “ex boyfriend” is a “drug dealer”. Erika can be seen telling her partner: “I never asked you to do this” before the actor ushers her through the hallway, telling her: “Come on, let’s go.”
A source said: “They started by filling the application in one of the machines. The whole time he was yelling ‘She is going to take all my money’ and ‘Her ex is a druggy, her ex is a druggy’.” The eye-witness went on to add that Nicolas and Erika were eventually taken to a private room before leaving the courthouse with papers. Nicolas has already been married three times before, first tying the knot with Patricia Arquette between 1995 and 2001. He then married Lisa Marie Presley for around three months in 2002. Finally, he married Alice Kim in 2004 and the pair remained together until 2016 – welcoming a son, Kal-El, in 2005. Nicolas also has a 28-year-old son, Weston, from a past relationship with actress Christina Fulton. The star was first linked to Erika last April but the pair have largely shunned the spotlight since being publicly linked.
