‘When A Good Girl Gone, She Gone Forever’- Nicki Minaj Says As She Bows Out Of The Entertainment Industry

Fans of rap queen Nicki Minaj were served more than they could take yesterday when the star announced her retirement from the music industry to have a family.

The 36-year-old shared this via her social media pages and many could not contain their shock. Delivering the news, Nicki noted that some would be happy that she’s leaving but she asks her fans to “keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, [x] in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me”. This came after she announced on her Queen Radio show that she and her boyfriend Kenneth Petty had applied for a marriage license and will be holding their wedding in the next 80 days.

Still revving in the news, Nicki recently shared a short video of her verse on “Sweetest Girl” collaboration with Wyclef Jean, as she said she might be leaving forever. She said: “I wish I could go back in time & hug this lil girl. Used to be the #SweetestGirl”. In addition to this, she shared photos of her hugging her younger self in series of photos she shared online. Nicki has been in the industry since 2004 and held her own as the queen of rap after succeeding in creating a niche for her style of music. Since then, she went on to get 10 grammy nominations, earned a Guinness World Record in 2017 for most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a solo female artist, won five MTV Video Music Awards and also became the first female rapper to officially sell 100 million units across her albums, singles and features as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America.Photo Credit: Getty
