Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Sister Njide Okonjo-Udochi Becomes First Black Female To Emerge ‘Physician of the Year’ In The US

Success certainly runs in the blood of the Okonjo’s and they are a reminder that women will win in every sphere of life. Barely a few hours after WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala resumed office her sister Njide Okonjo-Udoch became the first black female to emerge Physician of the year in the US.

 Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's Sister Njide Okonjo-Udochi Becomes First Black Female To Emerge 'Physician of the Year' In The USNgozi’s sister Njide emerged as the Family Physician Of The Year 2021 in Maryland, United States. This award was bestowed on Ms. Okonjo-Udochi by The Maryland Academy of Family Physicians (MDAFP). The MDAFP award honours a standout member that exemplifies the values and traditions of the family physician. She is the first Black female to win the prestigious award.



Her sister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala congratulated her sister on Twitter and appreciated her for taking care of COVID-19 patients and saving many lives. “Congratulations Dr. Njideka Udochi, Maryland’s Family Physician Of The Year. Thank you for your care of COVID-19 patients and for saving so many lives. Proud of you my sister.”
