Arise News reports that the African Action Congress (AAC) has requested President Bola Tinubu to grant access to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, for the launch of its Presidential Campaign Council in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. The party also sought provisions for food, beverages, and logistical support for 5,000 attendees anticipated at the event on November 11, 2026.

The AAC, in a letter dated October 21, 2026, signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, stated that the inauguration was intended to prepare for the 2027 general elections. The party justified its request by citing the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equitable treatment of political parties.

The AAC referenced the arrangements reportedly provided to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a comparable political engagement. The party argued that fulfilling its request would reflect the Presidency’s dedication to fairness and equal opportunities for political parties. The party requested the President to outline the specific protocols and requirements for approval.

The request aligns with political parties’ preparations for the 2027 general elections, as the AAC aims to secure government access for its campaign council launch and support for participants from both domestic and international locations. The party requested the President to outline the specific protocols and requirements for approval.

The AAC argued that fulfilling its request would reflect the Presidency’s dedication to fairness, equal opportunities, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without political bias. The party requested the President to outline the specific protocols and requirements for approval.
