Barbara Bush was a remarkable woman. She had grit & grace, brains & beauty. She was fierce & feisty in support of her family & friends, her country & her causes. She showed us what an honest, vibrant, full life looks like. Hillary and I mourn her passing and bless her memory.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to declare their Politics when they salute and mourn Mrs. Bush. We are Americans before we are partisans. We can be opponents and remain friends. We are all in it together and her great American life transcends tribal sensibilities .

I learnt of the passing of Barbara Bush with deep sadness and dismay. Throughout her life, she served others with grace and rectitude, setting an example from which we have much to learn, even today.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush was one of the early supporters of closed captioning. She was welcoming, she was real and she was funny. When I looked for a coaster to set my tea cup on the White House living quarters, she said, “Put it anywhere; the furniture is old!” RIP. pic.twitter.com/Zwu6cmLn47
