After several threats and invitations, the Kogi State Police Command has finally declared Senator Dino Melaye, and seven others wanted for charges related to illegal ownership of a firearm.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ali Janga, made the announcement today at the state police headquarters in Lokoja. According to Mr. Ali, the seven others declared wanted are suspects who escaped from police custody. They are: Kabiru Seidu, Nuhu Salisu, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.
The embattled Kogi West senator has severally denied the gun charges levied against him, claiming that the charges were cooked up by the state in an effort to get rid of him.
