President Buhari Approves $1 Billon To Purchase Military Equipment

President Buhari has approved the purchase of a new set of military weapons worth $1 billion to support the Nigerian Armed Forces in the fight against insurgency.
Buhari approved the purchase today during a meeting with the Honorable Minister of Defence, Brig.Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali, and some service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Confirming the new development, Mr Dan-Ali further disclosed that they also discussed the safe release of Leah Sharibu, the Dapchi schoolgirl still in Boko Haram captivity because she refused to deny her faith.
Though the idea of purchasing new military equipments will positively affect the Nigerian Army, President Buhari must avoid falling into the same arms deal trap that eventually implicated former President Goodluck Jonathan.
