Media entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey famously ignited rumors of a presidential run after her speech at the Golden Globes awards, but then clarified that only God could convince her to run. Her call for a message from above has been answered in the form of a letter from Jesus Christ.
Earlier this week, Oprah’s number one BFF Gayle King shared a snap of her assistant holding up a letter addressed to the media mogul, from Maine resident ‘Jesus Christ’. In her caption she wrote: ‘My asst @jznotthatjayz w/letter that just arrived @oprahmagazine. Hey @Oprah is this the sign you’re looking for?? swipe left for return address….’ The letter sparked CBS 13 News to find the sender who turns out to be an 83-year-old lady who is actually called Jesus Christ.
You couldn’t write this stuff. Apparently she gets ridiculed for her name and told the publication: ‘Most of them think I’m plain crazy and ignore me.’ She legally changed her name 50 years ago and began a letter writing campaign shortly after to spread a message of faith and peace. Christ claimed that she didn’t even know people were hoping the 64-year-old would run for presidency but would vote for her if she ever did.
The actress was thrown into the spotlight after her 2018 Golden Globes speech that inspired her fans and had some of Hollywood’s biggest names in tears. Since then people have speculated over the star running for the White House and Oprah claimed that she turned to God for answers. She said: ‘I went into prayer. ‘”God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.” And I haven’t gotten that.’ And now it looks like her prayers have just been answered with this letter – how clear of a sign does one girl need? If she doesn’t run for presidency after this, only God knows what will change her mind!
