The Independent National Electoral Committee, INEC, has given Osun State governor-elect, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the certificate of return. This is coming after Oyetola was declared the winner of the governorship election held in Osun State by Returning Officer, Professor Joseph Fuwape.
Oyetola was declared winner of the poll by INEC after results of the supplementary election held in seven polling units in the state were released. Oyetola trailed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s, Ademola Adeleke, by 353 votes going into the supplementary election. Oyetola’s votes in the re0run were however enough to help him overturn the deficit and be returned as winner of the governorship election. In the final votes Oyetola secured 255,505 votes, while Adeleke on the other hand got 255,023 votes.
