Meek Mill’s Jail Term: 7 Foreign Musicians Who Have Been Put Under Lock And Key


Meek Mill has been trending all day over his recent jail term of 2-4 years for violating parole terms. Although his attorney claims the judge has a personal vendetta with the rapper. Meek Mill will not be the first musician to be put behind bars. They have been a couple of top singers who have spent months and beyond in jail.
Below are 7 foreign artistes who have been put in the big house.
1. Lil Kim

Lil’ Kim, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, model, and actress. Rapper Lil’ Kim was sentenced to a year and a day in prison by Judge Gerard Lynch at Manhattan’s U.S. District Court in 2005. This was due to the fact that she lied to a federal grand jury to protect friends involved in a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station.
2. Fat Joe

Joseph Antonio Cartagena popularly known as Fat Joe is an American rapper who was was sentenced to four months in prison, a $15,000 fine, and a year of supervision after his release for tax evasion in 2013.
3. 50 Cent

On June 29, 1994, Jackson was arrested for selling four vials of cocaine to an undercover police officer. He was arrested again three weeks later, when police searched his home and found heroin, ten ounces of crack cocaine and a starter’s pistol. Although Jackson was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, he served six months in a boot camp (where he earned his high-school equivalency diploma).
4. Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane was sentenced to 39 months in prison after he was found guilty of being in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
5. Lil Wayne

In March 2010, Lil Wayne began serving an 8-month jail sentence in New York after being convicted of criminal possession of a weapon stemming from an incident in July 2007.
6. T.I

In March 2004, a warrant was issued for T.I.’s arrest after he violated his probation of a 1997 drug conviction. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
T.I. entered an Arkansas federal prison Tuesday to begin a year and a day sentence on a weapon charge.
7. Chris Brown

At his May 9, 2014 court date, Brown was ordered to serve 131 days in jail for his probation violation. He was sentenced to serve 365 days in custody; however, he was given credit for the 234 days he has already spent in rehab and jail.
