Jurgen Giants! Liverpool Made Champions League History On Wednesday Night

Jurgen Klopp’s Red Army made Champions League history on Wednesday night, as they sealed their spot in the final after recording a 7-6 aggregate win over AS Roma in the second-leg of their semifinal tie.
Roma’s impressive 4-2 victory at home was not enough to move them ahead, as Liverpool’s 5-2 victory in the first leg turned out to be the defining factor.

As confirmed by Who Scored.com, the Reds became the highest scoring team in a champions league tournament, when they scored two goals on Wednesday night. They overtook Barcelona – who scored 45 goals in 15 games in the 1999/2000 season – to become the first, as they have scored a total of 46 goals in 14 games.
The lethal Liverpool trident, Mane, Firmino and Salah also breezed past the record created by Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale, to become the highest scoring trident in the champions league history.
Madrid’s Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema scored 28 goals between them in the 2013-14 Champions League season. While the Red trident of Salah, Mane and Firmino have overtaken that this term by scoring 29 goals between them so far, including the qualifying stages.
