One thing the Nigerian Politics is known for apart for its insane corruption is the shameless defection of its political players. According to reports no fewer than 26 aspiring lawmakers have left the All Progressive Congress (APC), for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). According to reports, the defectors were aggrieved because the mandate given to them during the October 7 primaries was allegedly stolen by the national leadership of the ruling party. According to one of the defectors, Lamidi Olatunji, said: ” We have come to the inevitable conclusion to actualize their ambitions in APM.
We also wish to acknowledge the fatherly role of President Muhammadu Buhari in seeking to sustain the tenets of democracy, fairness, and equity in the resolution of the crisis in Ogun APC. We regret that Mr. President’s efforts were frustrated by the forces that are hellbent in taking the southwest back to the dark age of slavery where unelected kingpins direct the affairs of the people.”
