Homosexual Priests And Nuns Should Quit Or Be Celibate – Pope Francis

The leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has advised actively gay priests to leave the priesthood, rather than lead double lives. This was made known in a recent controversial book-length interview with a Spanish priest, Fernando Prado, where the Pope Francis added that men with deep-rooted homosexual tendencies should not be ordained as a Catholic clergy. “The question of homosexuality is a very serious one.” He added that those entrusted with training men to be priests must be certain that before being ordained, candidates are “humanly and emotionally mature,” the pope said. He added that “For this reason, the Church urges that persons with this rooted tendency not be accepted into (priestly) ministry or consecrated life. It is better that they leave the priesthood or the consecrated life rather than live a double life.”Photo Credit: Getty
