A ‘killer’ dad allegedly stuffed the bodies of his pregnant wife and their children, aged three and four, into oil and gas tanks to stop them smelling.
The remains of four-year-old Bella and her three-year-old sister Celeste have reportedly been discovered at the plant where their father Chris Watts worked. Watts, 33, is accused of murdering the toddlers and his wife Shanann, who was 15-weeks pregnant with a baby boy they were going to name Nico.
Earlier this week, he sobbed on TV as he appealed for the return of the trio before allegedly confessing he had killed them. The bodies were found on the property of Anadarko Petroleum, one of Colorado’s largest oil and gas drillers.
Police today claimed Watts hid his daughters in the tanks to conceal the smell, according to media reports. A body believed to be that of 34-year-old Shanann was found nearby at an oil rig. The site is close to the family home in Frederick, on the northern outskirts of Denver.
In a statement to CBS4, her family said: “It is with deep hurt, confusion and anger to confirm our beautiful cousin Shanann Watts, her unborn child, and her two angelic daughters, Bella (4), Celeste (3) were viciously murdered by husband Chris Watts; who confessed to the killings. Please keep Shanann’s parents and brother in your prayers.”
