Chelsea Sack Antonio Conte After Just Two Years As Manager!

Antonio Conte is no longer in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have sacked their Italian manager with 12 months remaining on his contract. In two years at the club, Conte won the Premier League and FA Cup, but the latter was not enough to save his job following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, finishing fifth in the 2017/18 PL season.

Napoli manager, Maurizio Sarri is expected to take over from Antonio Conte at Chelsea. On Wednesday, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis announced that “Sarri is close to being new Chelsea manager. My lawyers are in talks with his lawyers to finalize everything.” The Blues have been linked with Napoli midfielder Jorginho, as well as CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, while Brazil international Willian is close to joining Barcelona from Chelsea for around £53 million.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has paid tribute to Conte with a message posted on his Instagram account, saying: “Great man, Great manager. I wish you every success in the future.”
