Two care givers have been sacked after romping in a disabled client’s bedroom. Ann Mcghee, 54, and Tom Dignan, 56, were snared when the MS sufferer, 64, set up a hidden camera.
The romp scandal carers were branded a disgrace after their disabled client filmed them “moaning and groaning” on his bedroom floor. The multiple sclerosis sufferer told how he snared the shamed home helps on his iPad after suspecting they were using his home for trysts.
After Mcghee and married Dignan were fired, he hit out at their sleazy hook-ups while he was in the bath and his disabled wife sat in the living room of their Dunfermline bungalow. The man, who wants to remain anonymous, said: “While I was in the bathroom one day and my wife in the sitting room I could hear noises.
“At first I thought I was just hearing things but as the months went on I got more suspicious. One evening the noise was so loud I decided I had to do something. The next night I set up my iPad to video record and I caught them, there and then. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing. What they did was grossly offensive — and on my bedroom carpet is disgraceful. We complained straight away and the pair were dismissed by the company.” The clip of the colleagues — recorded in April — shows them cuddling in their red uniforms before they move out of shot and lie on the floor.
Moaning noises can then be heard for around five minutes, with the pair apparently unaware the tablet is capturing them. The footage ends with divorced Mcghee standing up and fixing her black trousers while Dignan goes to help the client. The man added: “I am an MS patient and a full-time wheelchair user and I need two carers to come in to help me. My wife had told me off for what we thought were wheelchair tyre tracks on the floor, but I fear now for what they really were.” Care Inspectorate bosses probed the incident before ruling it “completely unacceptable”.They were axed by employers Avondale Care Scotland. But the homeowner claims the firm have done little to put his mind at rest and says he and his missus feel “let down”. And he says a request for a new carpet from them fell on deaf ears. He added: “The company haven’t said very much to us at all. We had a meeting with one of the managers when they told us what had happened. But apart from that there hasn’t really been much explanation.” Watchdog chiefs confirmed they were alerted to the “serious allegation”. A Care Inspectorate spokesperson added: “It is completely unacceptable and we have raised this with the care provider who took the right action quickly”.
