2018 Victoria’s Secret Show Suffers A Blow In Its TV ratings

When it aired on Sunday, 2 December, the organizers of the 2018 Victoria’s Secret show never imagined it would gain less viewership than it ever did before. The event that was broadcast on ABC in the US and streamed on Hayu for UK viewers starred the Hadid sisters, as well as Kendall Jenner. The catwalk event attracted a record low of only 3.3 million viewers, compared to five million last year. Previous reports revealed that there was a staggering drop by nearly half in audiences view from 2014 to 2017 from 9.12 million to 4.98 million. Changes from its traditional Tuesday slot to Sunday might have attributed to the decrease. However, the figures are still an all-time low for the brand and this comes at a time the company faces increasing criticism for its outdated portrayal of beauty and lack of inclusivity.Photo Credit: Getty
