Newcastle Backed To Sign Hakim Ziyech From Chelsea After Incredible World Cup With Morocco

Newcastle has been name-checked as a surprise potential contender for Chelsea attacker Hakim Ziyech following Morocco’s exceptional run to the World Cup semi-finals.

Ziyech

The 29-year-old, who is renowned for his artistic left foot and pinpoint delivery, relished the chance to join up with his country for their venture in Qatar following a difficult campaign back in west London with the Blues.

Ziyech has started just one of Chelsea’s 15 Premier League matches this season, playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 defeat at Southampton back in August.

He has racked up just five appearances in the top-flight over the course of the season and his fortunes are yet to change following the appointment of Graham Potter.

But Ziyech firmly put his name in the shop window at the World Cup after starring for Morocco, starting all six of their matches at the tournament.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio expects the forward to be a major talking point in the January window and he believes Newcastle could be set to enter the running for his signature should Chelsea make the player available.
