NDDC Probe: Joy Nunieh Doesn’t Have NYSC Certificate – Akpabio

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has accused his fierce tormentor and former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, of not participating in the mandatory one-year National Youth service. Godswill Akpabio and Joy Nunieh

Joy Nunieh who accused Former Governor Godswill Akpabio of mismanagement of funds, sexual harassment and ordering the bombing of pipelines in the Niger Delta in his bid to get her out of office, for his selfish gains and that of his cohorts.

The Minister today appeared before the House Of Representatives Committee investigating financial mismanagement in the NDDC, the Minister said Mrs Nunieh also doesn’t have an exemption letter to not participate in the mandatory National Youth Service.

When asked about his fracas with Nunieh, the minister said, “The former Managing Director of the NDDC was relieved of her appointment when I received a letter from the then Chief of Staff (may his soul respect in peace) that she did not possess the requisite qualifications to be there.

“For instance, we have written twice to the National Youth Service Corps and twice they have insisted that she never served and that she does not have an NYSC certificate or an exception.”

Akpabio added that among other reasons, Nunieh was sacked due to insubordination.
