The Jigawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association {NBA}, has on Friday threatened to boycott the 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Bar if the decision of the Bar to withdraw Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai isn’t rescinded and his invitation to appear as a speaker the AGM is reinstated. 
 On Thursday, August 20, Gov Nasir El-Rufai’s invitation was withdrawn by the NBA, following a protest by some lawyers who argued that the governor isn’t fit to be seen amongst the learned fellows due to the abysmal record of his respect for human right and his repugnant abuse of it.
In a statement released by the Chairman of the NBA in Jigawa State, Abubakar Garba, he argued that the governor has been indicted even before he was given a fair hearing to defend himself of the allegations of human rights abuses levelled against him. The Jigawa state chapter further pointed finger to the Rivers State Gov. Nyesom Wike who has also been accused of violating human rights but yet he is invited to the event too. So if he is then they see no reason why Governor El-Rufai should be denied an invitation.
