Napoli Rejects Manchester United’s World Record Bid For Kalidou Koulibaly

Napoli have rejected an offer from Manchester United for Kalidou Koulibaly which would have made him the most expensive centre-back in history.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira, who claims that the Serie A giants are standing firm in their valuation of the defender.

United bid €110m for the towering defender over the weekend but that was quickly knocked back by the Stadio San Paolo side after his impressive performances this season. Napoli are believed to value Koulibaly at somewhere close to €150m.

Koulibaly will have a €150m release clause inserted int0 his contract but that does not come into play until June 2020. United have made a world class centre-back one of their top priorities this summer and have been linked with the likes of Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire.
